We have been working with West Lothian College, CITB and the Scottish Building Federation to initiate a Drylining Apprenticeship at the Livingston-based college. Previously, apprentices based in the East of Scotland had to attend the National Construction College in Inchinnan. We wanted to promote West Lothian College as it’s central location, and links to the main motorway network, means it can be easily accessed from both the East and West of the Country.
We are delighted to announce that the course began on the 3rd of May 2018, and Cameron Drywall has offered places to seven apprentices. Some of these have been working with us as Labourers on site, and some have been attending College previously, studying Construction.
The course will last 18 months, and the apprentices will attend college once a week, completing an SVQ Level 2 in Interior Systems Drylining. The rest of their time will be spent on site, working with experienced Dryliners to hone their practical skills.
We hope that our new apprentices enjoy their course, and that future apprentices benefit from attending the College.
